Food in Paris?

My parents took me to dinner today at my favorite restaurant.  I realized how much I enjoy the large portion sizes that I don't think I will find in the average French restaurant.  Also I usually like the simple bread, steak and fries meal, though when I think of French meals I usually imagine something more elaborate.  Other than the bread I may try a lot of new food that hopefully I will like.
